I did a lot of research on the cruise control units and Hydrophase had the best unit. Justin was very helpful when I ordered the unit and told me which parts I needed.
The install was quite easy if you follow the directions. The hardest part was unplugging some of the factory installed couplers especially on the starboard side. I used extra smaller zip ties to secure the wiring in the engine bay. Easy to run the wiring from engine bay to the front using a small fiberglass rod and tape. To run the wiring towards the dash I loosened the dashboard and fed the wires through a small opening. This can be seen on some of the pictures.
Tapping into the ignition wires was also straight forward. I thought it was easier to cut the factory zip ties, splay the wires out, hook up the new wires, and then re-zip tie the wires together. Initially I mounted the control unit on the glass of the dash with the sticky tape. Unfortunately the heat and humidity in Louisiana is sometimes oppressive and the unit would not stick well. I had some small black screws and used 2 to mount the bracket on the under surface of the dash. This set up holds well and looks good.
We used the unit for wakeboarding and the skiers thought that the boat speed was very consistent. One trick seem to get the boat up to the desired speed, set the unit, then advance the throttle up slightly. On the Yamahas with the Connect unit instead of advancing the throttle, just hit the cruise button up 2-3 times depending on the wind.
Overall, a great product and glad I bought it.
